Respite care is provided for if your relative normally has access to care in the community but their main carer needs a break. It could be that your family member’s primary care giver is going on holiday, or you just need a bit of help. Respite care is available usually for 6 weeks a year and can provided you and your relative with a much needed break and a positive solution to what can be a stressful time.
In line with local authority recommendations, we do not charge any additional fees (also know as top up fees) on top of the standard rates for care required for your relative’s stay with us.
Fees required for the board and care for your relative are charged at the local authority’s recommended price. For some care homes, an additional charge is required, which cannot be paid by the person receiving care. This means only a 3rd party, usually a relative, can fund the additional costs. At Mount Carmel, we don’t charge this for any lengths of stay.
Worried about fees? We have an experienced manager who will be more than happy to explain the process and discuss fees with you – just give us a call and we’ll be more than happy to advise you accordingly.
