It may have reached the stage to think about long term care options for your family member. In addition to respite care, we also provide long term, permanent residency. Every resident begins their stay at Mount Carmel with a 6 week trial period. As well as being in line with CQC guidelines, this enables everyone to get used to each other and ensures that your relative is happy before taking up permanent residency. Provided everyone is happy after the 6 week trial period, your relative can then live with us on a long term basis and make Mount Carmel their home.
In line with local authority recommendations, we do not charge any additional fees (also know as top up fees) on top of the standard rates for care required for your relative’s stay with us.
Fees required for the board and care for your relative are charged at the local authority’s recommended price. For some care homes, an additional charge is required, which cannot be paid by the person receiving care. This means only a 3rd party, usually a relative, can fund the additional costs. At Mount Carmel, we don’t charge this for any lengths of stay.
Worried about fees? We have an experienced manager who will be more than happy to explain the process and discuss fees with you – just give us a call and we’ll be more than happy to advise you accordingly.
